Help! I'm in treble! I ran over something sharp and now my tire is flat. I need a quarter for the phone. Do I need to repeat any of that? |
It's natural for me to thank you for sending me that. I saw it on my phone while at the stop sign on 32nd Street. I read half of it while stopped at the railroad tracks (with my foot OFF the gas pedal), and the whole thing after taking a shortcut (with fewer turns) to my home bass. It gave me a trill. I think I'll hold on to that one. |
One day in my high school French class, the teacher read several jokes to us . . . in French, bien sur. I do not remember any of the jokes, only that the first one was about a dog. Steve, sitting next to me, did not laugh. Nor did he laugh at the second, third, or fourth joke. Finally, after the teacher delivered the punchline of the fifth joke, Steve burst out laughing. Then, once he was able to settle down, I heard him say softly, "Now I get the one about the dog!"
