A congregation revamping their children's Bible classes reconfigured
the classrooms according specific aspects of the learning process:

The Story Room, including a simple replica of a first century fishing boat.
The Theater Room, including a stage and props for acting out the story.
The Craft Room, including kitchen appliances for preparing authentic foods.
The Game Room, including equipment for memory-enhancing activities, &

The Music Room!

I was asked to paint "Jesus Loves Me" music around the walls.
These pictures are from various stages of the project.*
Some of the obstacles I got to "banner around" include:

a credenza,
a single door,
a double door,
a whiteboard, &
a light switch.

The man who commissioned me to do the artwork is also a musician, and he
jokingly suggested that I throw in a "blue note." So I called his bluff by
making a flat sign from posterboard and taking this picture to send to him.

*You undoubtedly noticed some unpainted spots and some spots marked with blue tape,
indicating needed touch-up. Of course, the word "but" was filled in eventually!

Blue notes are the "extra notes" in a so-called "blues scale." They are flatted (i.e.
lowered a half step) from the regular scale notes, but rather than replacing them,
they are added in. So, for example, in the key of C major, such as this song is in,
there can exist both an E and an E-flat. (Also, both a B and a B-flat, and possibly
others!) It's one of the aspects that give blues music its characteristic sound. . . .
