Nineteen Fifty-Seven Bel-Air

Not to make this personal, but I was born in 1957. Okay, I guess it's personal. . . .

The 1957 Chevrolet is undoubtedly one of the most classic American automobiles of all time.
Many have been restored to original condition; many others have been modified by their owners.
The "57 Chevy," as it is often called, will always have a place in pop culture, as evidenced by a long list of SONGS that mention it.

Here are photos of my small collection, which does not [yet] include a full-size model!

Here are some of the aforementioned pop songs:

Eric Clapton's "Rock And Roll Heart" made it to #18 on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1983.
It was written by Troy Seals, Eddie Setser, Steve Diamond.
Troy Seals is related to Jimmy Seals—of Seals & Crofts—and to Dan Seals—of England Dan & John Ford Coley.
The lyric tying this classic car with rock music goes like this:
"I get off on '57 Chevys; I get off on screaming guitar."

Jim Croce's "Rapid Roy The Stock Car Boy" appears on his greatest hits album and on some live recordings.
It says of the title character that "every Sunday afternoon he is a dirt track demon in a fifty-seven Chevrolet."
His inspiration for the lyrics was apparently Roy Hall.
Roy really was involved in the moonshine business as the song suggests!
However, Roy's heyday was in the 1940s; in his only race after 1957, he crashed (and then retired).
