Here's the first public location of Allegro Music Academy.
There were three locations in the same shopping center
(one at a time). This sign moved when the business did.

Here's a closer look at the lighted channel letter sign.

When the business closed, the sign was a story and a half above ground.
Two of us, standing on parallel ladders, attempted to take the sign down.
It was removed from the wall and placed on a ledge, but it proved to be
too heavy for us to carry by hand while safely descending the ladders.

I decided to remove the trim and letter faces from the raceways.
Then I fashioned a backing board and mounted the letters on it.
Last, I mounted the resulting display on one wall of the garage.
Notice that the words "Music Academy" are not part of the display.

While designing and carrying out a method for attaching the letters,
they sat in random fashion on the workbench. Some words appeared!

"Allegro" is a music term indicating to play a piece at a fast speed.
At the opposite end of the tempo continuum is "largo," for very slow.

Apparently all that heavy thinking made me hungry, because I also saw these:

Once this monster showed up, I knew it was time to get my affairs in order.

Here are some more four-letter words that could have been made:
  • ERGO, which means "therefore" in Latin.
  • GAOL, which means "jail" in British.
  • ALGO, which means something in Spanish.*
  • ORAL, which is a type of exam administered by a prof (or dentist).
  • RELO, which is a type of oral abbr heard fr real est agts.
  • GOAL, which means whatever you want!
There are plenty of possiblities with three or four letters
. . . but the others are not as fun.
*Really! Look it up!
