Alliternation

In one of my mental exercises while walking back and forth to work, I tried to name, for each of our fifty states, a city in that state whose name begins with the same letter as the state name. On the first pass I thought of 34 (that's 68%). After a few such brainstorming sessions, plus a few educated guesses and verification by MapQuest, the number grew to 47.

If you are a wide traveler, (and I mean that in the best possible way,) try it yourself. In case you can't do this part from memory, I listed the states here:
