JEFF "SKUNK" BAXTER / MICHAEL McDONALD / CORNELIUS BUMPUS
musicians who played both with Steely Dan and with Doobie Brothers
Guitarist Skunk was in the original lineup of the Dan but left after they evolved into a studio group comprised of Becker, Fagen, & Whoever. He then became a Doobie.
When Tom Johnston of the Doobies got sick while on tour, Skunk suggested bringing along keyboard player McDonald, one of the session musicians that Becker & Fagen had employed.
Bumpus was a saxophonist who toured with Steely Dan for a decade (after they apparently overcame their loathing of playing live gigs). He recorded a couple of tracks with Doobie Brothers and then toured with them on and off for several years.
