animal names in the Hebrew Old Testament that are hard to translate
We don't really know what creatures are referred to.
My best guess is that they are now extinct.
They didn't have animal-rights activists protecting them.
- Isaiah 34.14
- And there shall the beasts of the desert meet with the jackals, and
the wild goat shall cry to his fellow; the
lilith also shall settle
there, and find for herself a place of rest.
- Job 40.15
- Look at the behemoth, which I
made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox.
