Captain Cook named the Sandwich Islands after him. They are now known as the Hawaiian Islands.
His practice of eating some meat between two slices of bread led to the creation of the sandwich.
He was helpful in building the Noblemen & Gentlemen's Catch Club, featuring fun musical pieces.
