VISPOONS

Vispoon1 is a portmanteau2 of visual3 and spoonerism.4

I've taken some common terms, made a spoonerism out of each one, and then made a visual representation of each. See if you can identify them. For example, if you saw a picture of a red lump near the edge of an eyelid that looked like someone tried to lance it and it didn't heal, you might exclaim, "The scars in the stye!" which would be a spoonerism of "the stars in the sky."

Below the pictures are synonymous expressions for the answers, but not in the same order as the vispoons!

If at this juncture you're thinking, "This is silly," then I have two words for you: "You're right!" Or is that three words? Or is it one contraction and one word? Does a contraction count as one word or two? Or not a word?5

  1. bathing while standing under a manmade waterfall
  2. be unwell, as described by your local meteorologist
  3. fires a gun while holding it just above the holster
  4. hurry and get it done; I hear the second hand!
  5. like the label says, use caution and don't drop that
  6. attack one's study material with vigorous intent
