The translation used is the New American Standard Bible, with the exception
that I have replaced archaic pronouns (e.g. Thou), used only when referring to
God, with their modern equivalents (e.g. You).
Quotation marks are only used
when the words are being spoken by someone other than the author of the
book.
When the word "LORD" or the word "GOD" appears in small caps in Old Testament quotes, it indicates
that the original Hebrew contains the
"tetragrammaton",
i.e. the personal name of God.
When words appear in variable font,
it indicates that these words do not appear in the original Hebrew or Greek, but
were considered by the translators to be necessary for the text to make sense in
English.
